Alright, lemme break it down, based on what I’ve dug up.
So, supposedly, the Solo Loop band is, like, the MVP for swimmin’. Apparently, it’s the “only truly” waterproof one. I mean, that’s what they *say*. I’d still probably rinse it off afterward if I was in a chlorine-y pool, just sayin’. Chlorine’s nasty stuff, ya know?
Then there’s the Ocean band that comes with the Apple Watch Ultra. That one’s made of fluoroelastomer, which is basically fancy synthetic rubber stuff. So, yeah, that should be good for swimming too. I mean, it’s designed for it! It would be pretty dumb if it fell apart after a dip.
Now, for the ones you wanna keep away from water…
The Leather Loop, Modern Buckle, Milanese, and Link Bracelet Bands. are, like, a *hard no* for water activities. I mean, it kinda makes sense, right? Leather gets all gross when it’s wet, and those metal ones probably aren’t super keen on being submerged constantly. Plus, who wants to spend all that money on a fancy band just to ruin it? Not me!
And then there’s the Trail Loop. From what I’m seeing, it’s not explicitly mentioned as waterproof, but I suspect it’s *okay* for light splashes. But like, not for laps in the pool. I’d probably err on the side of caution with that one.
Honestly, it’s kinda annoying that Apple doesn’t just make it super clear which bands are 100% waterproof, ya know? You’d think they’d have some sort of, like, official rating system or something.
Okay, here’s my personal opinion, which you didn’t *really* ask for but you’re getting anyway: If you’re planning on swimming a lot, just grab a cheapy silicone band. They’re like, $20 on Amazon, and you won’t have to stress about ruining your expensive band. Plus, they’re probably more comfortable for swimming anyway.
