First off, let’s talk about the “Pirate Black” 350s. Those are, like, the OG fakes. Everyone and their grandma tried to knock those off. Apparently, real Pirate Blacks have this *slight* little bump and dip on the heel. Fake ones? Flat as a pancake. I mean, come ON guys, even *I* could sculpt a lil’ bump. Lazy counterfeiting right there, if you ask me.
Then there’s the lining. Oh, the lining. Apparently, the *color* of the inside lining can give you away. I’m not even kidding. Like, who sits around comparing the *exact shade* of black on the inside of their shoe? But hey, if you’re dropping serious cash, I guess you kinda HAVE to, right? I mean, unless you wanna be walking around rocking fake kicks and looking like a total… well, you know.
And it’s not just the Pirate Blacks. We’re talking about *all* the black Yeezys, people! And also Yeezy Slides and even Yeezy 500s! It’s an epidemic, I tell ya!
Speaking of Yeezy 500s, supposedly there are seven steps to spotting a fake. SEVEN! That’s, like, a part-time job. Honestly, at that point, it’s almost easier just to buy directly from Adidas or, like, Amazon, you know? (But be careful on Amazon too, some sellers are shady AF).
Oh, and get this – the suede patch on some fakes is apparently BIGGER. Like, noticeably bigger. Now, I’m not a shoe expert or anything, but wouldn’t you think they’d try to make it *smaller* so it’s less obvious? Maybe these counterfeiters are just trolling us at this point.
Honestly, it’s all a bit of a headache. You gotta check the heel bump, the lining color, the suede patch size… it’s exhausting. I swear, half the time I just buy whatever looks good and hope for the best. What can I say? I’m a risk-taker. (Or maybe just lazy. Probably lazy.)
