I mean, the concept is simple: hook some dudes up to a machine that mimics labor pains and watch them squirm. You’d think, knowing what’s coming, they’d be all macho and stuff, like, “Yeah, I can handle anything!” But, nooooope. Within minutes, they’re usually begging for their mommies. It’s kinda hilarious, not gonna lie.
There’s this one I saw, right? It was part of a church service, I think? (The “Sunday Morning Worship Live” one mentioned above… talk about different, huh?). This dude, Ned, was trying to simulate Ariel’s labor. Ariel! I don’t know who Ariel is, but like, the dedication is…something. I really need to find that one again when I’m bored.
Then there’s the “Can My Husband Handle CHILDBIRTH?! *Labor Simulator*” one. The title itself screams clickbait, but hey, it worked on me. Two brave (or maybe just clueless) dudes signing up for what’s basically torture. I wonder how they felt afterwards, though. Like, did it change their perspective on childbirth? Or were they just traumatized? Probably both, tbh.
And the best part? They always underestimate it. They’re all “Oh, it can’t be *that* bad.” Then BAM! Face contorted in agony, clutching whatever’s nearby. It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion, but, you know, in a kinda good way? Okay, maybe “good” is a strong word. More like… fascinatingly cringe-worthy.
It makes you think, right? Like, we women (well, not *me* specifically, I’m good on the kid front, thx) go through this insane pain, and these guys are whining about a little simulated discomfort. (Okay, maybe it’s *a lot* of simulated discomfort, but still!). And then there’s the whole “Cheating Wife Mocked Janitor Husband Daily Not Knowing He…” thing – that’s a whole other can of worms, but it’s always about guys trying to experience what women go through. What is going on with that?
But here’s the thing: I’m not saying all men are wimps. Some of them actually seem to handle it okay-ish. I saw one where these two guys were dismissing the whole labor pain thing until they got hooked up. Did they still complain? Probably. But maybe a little less? I dunno.
Look, I get it. Pain is subjective. What feels like a paper cut to one person might feel like a chainsaw massacre to another. But these videos… they’re just so darn entertaining. They’re a mix of schadenfreude, genuine empathy (a little!), and a whole lotta “OMG, I’m so glad I don’t have to do that.”
