First things first, this ain’t your run-of-the-mill watch shop. We’re talking *Relojeria Alemana*, founded all the way back in 1879 by some German dude named William Krug in Palma. Can you imagine? That’s ancient in retail years! Makes you wonder what kind of watches they were slingin’ back then – probably something that needed winding every five minutes. (Speaking of winding, apparently they even have an article on their website about how to wind a watch! Who knew that was still a thing?).
So, yeah, they’re old, but they’re not just resting on their laurels. They seem to be a big deal, an “official retailer” for brands like Patek Philippe. Patek Philippe! That’s like the Rolls Royce of watches, right? I mean, I can barely afford a decent Casio, but hey, a girl can dream.
I also saw they’re all up in the legal stuff, mentioning some Law 34/2002 thingy. Sounds very official and boring, but I guess it’s gotta be done. It basically says they’re the owners of relojeriaalemana.com, so don’t go trying to steal their domain name, folks. (Not that you would, of course).
Now, here’s where it gets a little…all over the place. I saw something about the “Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.” What does that even have to do with watches? Maybe they sponsor it? Or maybe super-rich equestrian types are really into fancy watches? I dunno, my brain starts to hurt thinking about it too much.
Then there’s the Cartier section. Cartier’s pretty swanky too, right? I always think of engagement rings when I see that brand. I wonder if they have a good selection? Now I’m getting completely sidetracked thinking about jewelry. This is why I can’t be trusted near a shopping mall.
Anyway, back to Relojería Alemana. They want you to contact them so they can “help you choose a Rolex or answer your questions.” Sounds like a good deal if you’re looking to drop some serious cash. Me? I’ll probably just stick with admiring their stuff from afar. But hey, if you’re in Palma and have some spare Euros burning a hole in your pocket, why not pop in and see what they’ve got? Just don’t blame me if you end up bankrupt. 😉
Oh, and by the way, their contact email is [email protected]. Just in case you were wondering. Because, you know, you might have a sudden burning desire to email them. You never know!
